KONG 1.0

At the beginning of the Center Stage season, we started with a simple 2-pincer claw design, which lasted about a month. Our chassis measured 17.9 x 17.9 x 13 inches; just enough to get by.

By November, we devised a new, slightly slimmer chassis, with a brand new claw design that used a compliant material like a sponge to grab two pixels, which would then be ejected off by an attached 3D printed piece.

An idea we liked from start to end, however, was attached hooks for suspension. This robot was the first use of these, and we would continue to use them throughout Kong's life.
